4th and 5th grade students!
After the fall break in October the campaigning will begin for a spot on our student council!! October 16th, 17th, and 18th any 4th or 5th grade students that are interested in representing their class are invited to put 2 posters in the 4th and 5th grade hallway. Be sure your posters are NEATLY done and that they show the reasons you should be chosen as your class representative. We are not allowing buttons, tokens, treats, or anything like that to be part of your campaign. We don’t want this to be a popularity contest, but instead, we want our students to think about positive attributes and leadership abilities when making their decision.
On October 19th we will have the speeches. Please watch some examples on YouTube and keep your speech to no longer than 3 minutes. Again, nothing extra—just you looking great and the good things you have to say to sell yourself.
At the end of the day each of the 4th and 5th grade classes will vote for their class rep. We will have 2 reps per grade in 5th and 1 rep per grade in 4th.
Friday, the 20th we will announce the results of the elections. Student Council meetings will be every other Wednesday after school, so please factor that in if you already have a prior commitment.
Have fun with this, but remember we are looking for representatives from our school that will show academic excellence, responsibility, leadership abilities, and exemplary behavior.
If you are interested, please contact Ms. Paluso by October 11th, 2017.
