Meet Mrs. Fjeldsted
As a school counselor, my number one priority is to advocate for each and every student at our school. I assist teachers and parents in educating children about social and emotional learning which is done through classroom lessons, small group instruction and individual meetings with students.
Skills such as communication, anxiety, problem-solving and learning to identify and cope with emotions are all part of this curriculum. I encourage parents to refer to my monthly newsletter for more details about character education lessons and tips to help you as parents at home.
Together we can help each and every student succeed and thrive both mentally and emotionally. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions!

Many schools in Washington County School District are implementing wellness rooms as a safe space for students to go during school hours where they can self regulate when dealing with challenging emotions. Our school currently does not have the space for a wellness room, but I have created a peace corner in my office to serve a similar purpose. Students can ask permission to visit the peace corner for 5 minutes and quietly pick a tool to help them calm down and be ready to return to class and work. Have more questions? Don’t hesitate to contact me!
